About Us

Our story

The ethos of this Grand Challenges project is to make diet and health compulsory in the subject of biology from Years 10 to 11. Our group has looked into the current curriculum of Biology in High School and how diet and health are being implemented. We noticed many things that needed to improve. Childhood obesity has risen exponentially, especially after the pandemic. Therefore, we advocate for the provision of consistent education on diet and health in schools to allow students to understand the importance of food, whilst retaining this information for a long period of time. There are many programmes and apps which try to educate people on diet and health. Yet, results have proven that their effect is short term. This is why we are strongly pushing the government to make institutional changes that will translate onto long term improvements in health. We have published a petition that outlines why this is a topic of great concern and clearly identifies the changes required. In order to get this topic to be discussed in parliament, we need 100,000 signatures. This is why we need YOUR support to implement this change! Education is the key to students understanding diet and health to make long term improvements in their nutrition.
